Saying "Thank You" in 21 Different Languages

Sometimes when you say thank you, you don’t know the best way to express it, is saying “thank you!” enough? Sometimes words don't seem to do justice, asking yourself “how else can I say thank you”, what more can you possibly do to show this person you’re really thankful? You write a thank you letter, or leave a cute thoughtful thank you note. Being able to say thanks to another person is a great feeling because it usually means that someone did something nice for you, thought about something and did something for you. Taking you to the airport, making you a great dinner, bringing you a gift from a traveled place, telling you that you look great, or opening a door are all common things we say thank you for. Saying thank you in your relationship can add a great deal of romance. To show your appreciation to someone, perhaps your significant other, is a big part of making them feel special, and there are few better ways to do so. To show them how much they mean to you, saying “thank you” can go a long way! Saying thank you in a different language can set the mood, for instance you don’t speak Spanish but when your friend does something for you, you send a friendly playful “Gracias!” and in reply you receive “De Nada!” When in another country you hear someone say “Merci!” and it sounds so romantic, why is that? Speak another language to me and my heart melts. An old boyfriend of mine spoke Russian, and I would always hear him talk to his family in Russian and I thought it was just so sexy, even though they could have been talking about the traffic going into Los Angeles. I would say “Spasiba” (thank you) and “Pajalusta” (you’re welcome) in Russian. "The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention." - Oscar Wilde
